AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PADUCAH AIRPORT CORPORATION, LESSEE OF THE
PADUCAH-McCRACKEN COUNTY AIRPORT, TO ACT AS AGENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
IN FILING WITH THE ADMINISTRATOR OF CIVIL AERONAUTICS AND PROCESSING THE APPLICA-
TION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND McCRACKEN COUNTY, KENTUCKY, FOR THE GRANT OF
FEDERAL FUNDS TO AID IN FINANCING THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
UPON SAID AIRPORT
WHEREAS, plans have been prepared for the construction of an administration
building upon the Paducah -McCracken County Airport, known as Barkley Field, at
an estimated cost of $145,000, which shall include water supply, a septic tank,
and all incidental facilities; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable to submit to the Administrator of Civil
Aeronautics an applicatmon under the Federal Airport Act and the regulations
issued thereunder for aid in financing said project; and,
WHEREAS, if said project application shall be approved, it is contemplated
that one-half of the required amount, or X72,500 will be advanced by the Federal
Government, one half of the remainder is to be paid by the City of Paducah and
14cCracken County, Kentucky, which is to be matched by an equal amount furnished
by the Kentucky Department of aeronautics; and,
WHEREAS, the Paducah Airport Corporation has arranged for the borrowing of
$36,250 for financing that portion of the cost to be bourne by the City of Paducah
and McCracken County, Kentucky, and said corporation has definite commitments from
interested citizens to guarantee the repayment of the loan to be obtained by it;
and,
WHEREAS, it is further contemplated that the aforesaid loan representing the
sponsor's share of the cost shall be paid from appropriations made each year by
the City of Paducah and McCracken County, Kentucky, if the legislative body of
eahh shall see fit to make appropriations for such purpose; and
WHEREAS, the proceedings to construct the aforesaid administration building
were initiated by the Paducah Airport Corporation, and by reason of the incon-
venience of buinging before the City of Paducah for approval ea# and every detail
in connection with said project, it would be advantageous to have the Paducah
Airport Corporation act as agent for said city in all matters pertaining thereto;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COivir•4ISSIONERS OF THE CIT} OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY.
SECTION 1. That the Paducah Airport Corporation, as lessee of the Paducah -
McCracken County Airport, be, and it is hereby authorized and empowered to execute
as agent for the City of Paducah an application to the Administrator of Civil
Aeronautics for a grant of Federal Funds in the sum of u72,500 pursuant to the
Federal Airport Act and the Regulations issued thereunder, for the ;nirpose of

aiding in the financing of a project for development of Barkley Field by the
construction of an Administration Building thereon, including water supply,
septic tank, and incidental facilities, one half of the remainder of the cost
to be paid by the Paducah Airport Eorporation from the proceeds of a loan it
has offered to obtain for that purpose, and the other half to be paid big the
Kentucky Department of Aeronautics.
SECTION 2. That the Paducah Airport Corporation be further authorized
and empowered, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, and as its agent, to
execute any grant agreement setting forth the terms of the offer of the Civil
Aeronautics Administration, or of other agencies of the United States of
America, or of the °tate of Kentucky, for the granting of such funds, and
to execute and process as agent for the City of Paducah any and all documents
and papers of any kind which may be required by the Civil Aeronautics Adminis-
trator, or by any other agency of the United States of America, or by the State
of Kentucky, when said project application has been submitted and approved and
the grant offer has been accepted by the Paducah Airport Corporation for said
city. The Paducah Airport Corporation is further authorized as agent of the
City of Paducah to receive and disburse the funds for the construction of said
administration building, and to have full charge and control of the planning,
construction work and all details .in connection with said project.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its ad option.
