AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH
MURRAY HODGES FOR THE PURCHASE OF 13,950 BOARD FEET OF TREATED LUMBER IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE TERMS AND SPECIFICATIONS SET FORTH IN THE RESOLUTION UNDER WHICH 7% CITY
MANAGER WAS REQUESTED TO OBTAIN BIDS, IN THE SUM OF $2,790
WHEREAS, the City Manager was authorized to receive bids for the puchase by
the City of Paducah of 13,950 boqrd feet of seasoned and treated lumber, and the bid
of Murray Hodges being the only one submitted after the advertisement of the request
for bids had been published in the newspaper and posted at the City Hall door as
required by law; and
WHEREAS, it appearing that the amount ofthe bid of Murray Hodges in the sum
of $200 per thousand boqrd feet is a fair and reasonable price for said lumber;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: I
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to enter I
into a contract on behalf of the City of Paducah for the purchase of 13,950 board
feet of treated lumber from Murray Hodges at the price of $200 pwe thousand boqrd
feet, and to enter into said contract which shall contain all of the terms, con-
ditions and specifications set forth in the resolution under which the City Manager
was requested to advertise for bids, being a resolution adopted by the Board of
Commissioners on August 14, 1951, and of record in Ordinance Book 12, page 498,
of the official records of the City of Paducah. The City Manager is further
authorized to include in said contract such other terms and conditions as may be
necessary for the protection of the interest of the City of Paducah.
SECTION 2. That the sum of $2,790 required for the purchase of said lumber
be charged to the amount appropriated to the Street Department under the apportion-
ment ordinance adopted in the year 1951.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the
Board of Commissioners and remain on file at least one week for public inspection
in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and shall be
in full force and effect fen days from and after its final adoption.
