A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
SALE OF A CERTAIN BUILDING LOCATED AT 1125-1127 BURNETT STREET IN THE CITY OF
PADUCAH; PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE AND THE MANNER IN WHICH
BIDS SHALL BE ADVERTISED FOR AND RECEIVED
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to adver-
tise for the sale of a duplex residence building located at 1125-1127 Burnett
Street in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the purpose of removing said building
from the property which the City of Paducah acquired by deed of conveyance from T.
Allen and wife, known as the "fire station property" at the intersection of 12th
and Burnett Streets. Each bidder shall state the highest amount he is willing to
pay for said building and the full amount of the purchase price shall be paid in
cash. It is understood that said building will be removed within thirty (30) days
after the city, by ordinance, approves the sale thereof, and the successful bidder
will insure the city of complete possession of said property not later than the
thirty (30) day period.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted
up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at
least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published
at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened
within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted.
No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening
of bids sna all bids so received shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners
who may let the contract to the highest and best bidder. The Board of Commissioner
reserves the right to reject any and all bids and they shall not become legally
obligated for the sale of said building until the adoption of an ordinance
authorizing such sale.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in .full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
