AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF $34,527.01 FROM THE PUBLIC
WORKS CUMULATIVE RESERVE FUND FOR PAYMENT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE FOR A MOTOR
GRADER TO BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION WORK AND ALSO TO DEFRAY THE COST OF
MATERIALS USED FOR THE PAVING AND IMPROVEMENT OF GRAVEL STREETS IN THE CITY OF
PADUCAH.
WHEREAS, under an ordinance adopted on December 29, 1950 the sum of
$35,000 was set aside for the establishment and maintenance of a Public Works
Cumulative Reserve Fund, said fund to be used for the acquisition, construction,
maintenance of streets, aidewalks, alleys, bridges and other public ways of the
City of Paducah; and
WHEREAS, the sum of $11,466 has been expended for the purchase of a motor
grader, the same being used in the work of making permanent improvements upon
the gravel streets of the city; and
WHEREAS, in the purchase of materials used in the oiling and resurfacing of
gravel streets the sum of $7,060.01 has been charged to Account 62$1 for paving
materials as shown under the apportionment ordinance for the year 1951, and it
is necessary that said sum be charged against the aforesaid Public Works
Cumulative Reserve Fund; and
WHEREAS, the additional sum of $16,000 will be required to complete the
projects which have been undertaken for the improvement of gravel streets by
oiling and resurfacing same;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the expenditure of $11,466 for the purchase of a motor
grader for use in the work of oiling and resurfacing of gravel streets of the
city be ratified and approved, and that said sum be charged to the Public Works
Cumulative Reserve Fund in the sum of $35,000 heretofore established under an
ordinance adopted on December 29, 1950.
$ECTION 2. That the sum of $7,060.01 heretofore expended for materials
used in the oiling and resurfacing of streets, which sum has been charged to
Account ,62$1 "Paving Materials" under the apportionment ordinance adopted in
1951, be charged to the aforesaid Public Works Cumulative Reserve Fund, bhereby
eliminating the deficit as shown under Account 62$1.
SECTION 3. That the additional sum of $16,000 be expended for the com-
pletion of the projects now undertaken for the oiling and resurfacing of gravel
streets, said sum to be charged against the aforesaid Public Works Cumulative
Reserve Fund, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to make such expenditures
for oiling and paving materials as may be necessary for the comple tion of said
projects, charging all of said expenditures, not exceeding N16,000, to the
aforesaid Public Works Cumulative Reserve Fund.
SECTION 4. For the purpose of carrying the provisions of this ordinance
into effect, the City Treasurer will establish and ant in t all times a
Reserve Fund
separate account showing the amount of the Public Vor�Cs �umu�ative

together with all expenditures charged against said fund, which Public Works
Cumulative Reserve Fund and expenditures to be deducted therefrom are, as of this
date, as follows:

SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
