A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
SALE OF CERTAIN BUILDINGS AND IMPROVEMENTS IN WHAT IS KNOWN AS VETERAN'S VILLAGE
AT 23RD AND OHIO STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH; PRESCRIBING THE SPECIFICATIONS
TO BE COMPLIED WITH BY BIDDERS AND THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE; AND
PRESCRIBING THE MANNER IN WHICH BIDS SHALL BE ADVERTISED FOR AND RECEIVED
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized
to advertise for the sale of two (2) buildings and improvements upon the
property known as the Veteran's Village located at 23rd and Ohio Streets in
Paducah, Kentucky, Veteran's Housing Project Ky-V-15-140. The buildings
and improvements to be sold are designated and numbered "E" and "H" on the Plat of
the Paducah Municipal Housing Project KY 6-3. Each bidder shall state the
highest amount he is willing to pay for each of said buildings or for the par-
ticular building he wishes to purchase. The full amount of the purchase price
shall be paid in cash.
It is understood by the bidders when submitting offers that said buildings
must be removed within fifteen (150) days after the city, by ordinance, approves
the sale of said buildings. The successful bidder or bidders shall agree at
the time of the acceptance of his or their bids that the buildings so purchased,
together with all appurtenances and other improvements attached to or used as a
part of any building, shall be completely removed from said property by the
date fixed herein, and the contract of sale shall contain such further provisions
as will insure the City of Paducah of the complete possession of said property
not later than the date provided.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted
up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at
least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at
least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened
within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adoptid. No bid shall
be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed
in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up
to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners
who may let the contract to the highest and best bidder. The Board of Commission-
ers shall reserve the right to reject any and all bida and they shall not become
legally obligated to sell a building or any buildings until the adoption of an
ordinance authorizing such sale or saled.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
