thAtN DpD AU ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EIl;PLOYNIENT OF ATTORNEYS TO REPRESENT
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, IN LEGAL MATTERS; FIXING THE NUMBER
TO BE EidPLOYED AND THE AMOUNT OF THEIR COMPENSATION; PRESCRIBING
THE DUTIES OF SUCH ATTORNEYS; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT THEREWITH", WHICH CTAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COi-I:ISSIONERS
ON APRIL 24, 1951
BE IT ORDAIP:ED BY THE BOARD OF C%liI33IONERS OF THE CITY OF. PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 5 of an ordinance containing the
title qupted above, which ordinance was adopted on April 24th, 1951,
be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said
section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
Q "Section 5. The City I•anager is further authorized to employ for
the City of Paducah until August 31, 1951, an attorney to be demignated as
/4Special Counsel who shall represent the City in any proceeding it may be
required to initiate for the reduction of rates for gas service, the
r litigation involving the acquisition of the electric utilities system
of the Kentucky Utilities Company, the four .flood damage suits now pending again
the city, and any other damage suits that may be filed against said city prior
to August 31, 1951."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
