A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF ONE ONE-HALF TON, RED IN COLOR, CARRYALL EIGHT PASSENGER AUTOMOBILE
OR SIMILAR VEHICLE, FOR USE IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS
UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COI'%;MISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
+KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City I.;anager be and he is hereby authorized to

ladvertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one one-half ton carryall,
red in color, eight passenger automobile, or similar vehicle, two rear seats
removable so as to make a panel truck body, rear opens when used as a panel truck;
three speed standar d transmission. This piece of equipment to be equipped with
600/16 tires including spare. This automobile to be used in the Fire Department,
City of Paducah. Each bidder is to state in his bid the amount he will accept in
cash for the purchase price of the automobile he offers for sale and the length
of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. The car to be purchased
shall be of a kind having a list price of not more than $2,000.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up
at the city hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least
one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least
seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten
days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received
unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice
for the. opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time
fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let toe
contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve
the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated
to purchase said automobile until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the
execution of a contract.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
