SECTIOiV 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one new black
1950 model one-half ton canopy express truck. Each bidder shall state the
amount acceptable in payment of the full amount of the purchase price in
cash, and shall submit a complete description showin- standard equipment of ,
the vehicle he proposes to supply together with a list of optional equipment
and their respective costs when added to the vehicle.
Egch bidder shall also state in his bid the date on which he agreea t
deliver said new truck and that he is willing to execute and deliver to
the city a bond in the sum of .;,500.00 to guarantee delivery on or before the
date specified in his bid.
SECTIO!? 2. The City :•'anager shall advertise for bids by a notice
posted up at the city hall door and by insertin.: notice of the request for bids
in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and pub-
lished at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be
opened within ten days from the date of ahich this resolution is adopted.
Sso bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the openin of bids. All bids received
by the City tanager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with
the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible
bidder. The -,card of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and
all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to purchase said truck
until the adoption of an ordinance authorizinff the execution of a contract.
SECTT_OI? 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
