E. M. BAILEY DISTRIBUTING COMPANY FOR THE PURCHASE OF GASOLINE REQUIRED IN
GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR MONTHS BEGINNING MAY 16, 1951,
AND PROVIDING THAT PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE UPON THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET
FORTH THEREIN
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be andhe is hereby authorized for and on
behalf of the City of Paducah, to enter into a contract with the E.M.Bailey
Distributing Company for the purchase of regular gasoline, minimum research
octane $4, at a price not to exceed 20:69¢ per gallon; also Ethyl gasoline,
minimum research octane 90, at a price not to exceed 22.19¢ per gallon, exclusive
of any Federal excise tax; said gasoline to be purchased upon the order of the
City of „Paducah for use in governmental operations for a period of four months
beginning biay 16, 1951, and upon the terms and conditions set forth in the
written bids of said company received and filed by the Board of Commissioners on
May 8, 1951, said terms and conditions as set forth in said bid being referred to
and made a part of this ordinance to the same extent as if fully copied herein.
SECTION 2. The contract under which said gasoline will be purchased shall
fully provide that in the event of a decline in the retail price of said product
at any time during said period, the city shall be given the benefit of market
reduction in prices and the City Manager shall include in said contract such
additipnal terms and conditions as may be necessary to protect the interests of
the City of Paducah.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the
Board of Commissioners and remain on file at least one week for public inspection
in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final pasage. As the
various depaaments of the city must be immediately supplied with gasoline for the
protection of the public health, safety and welfare, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinate shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
