AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION SIX OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE
PRESCRIBING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE POLICE DEPART14ENT OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS, POWERS AND DUTIES AND FIXING
THE COMPENSATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY
CLAUSE, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH", WHICH WAS ADOPTED
i) BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH ON JANUARY 7, 1947.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION A. That Section Six of an ordinance containing the title quoted
above in the title hereof, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah on January 7, 1947, be, and the same is hereby, amended so that
as amended said section shall read as follows:
"SECTION 6. Qualifications and requirements for all applicants for
membership in the Police Department shall be as follows:
1. Must be of male sex.
d "/.9 2. Must be not less than 21 years of age and not more than
77 40 years of age.
3. Must be a qualified voter of the City of Paducah and an
orderly and law abiding citizen.
4. Must be of goolLmoral character, sobriety and integrity.
5. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the

English language.
6. Must successfully stand and pass an "Al" physical
examination by a physician designated by the City Manager.
7. Must furnish satisfactory references from at least 5
reputable citizens of the City of Paducah.
8. Must possess such other minimum qualifications as may be
required by applicable statutes of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky."
SECTION B. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION C. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption. /] p
