"AN OiRDINA'.:CE CLASING OFFICES AND POSITIONS OF TRUST OR EMPLOYMENT IN THE SERVICE
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, UNDER CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF KRS 90.300 TO 90.990; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT
OF A BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS, FIXING AND PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFI-
CATIONS, TERMS OF OFFICE, POWERS AND DUTIES OF SAID COM1&,ISSIONERS; PRESCRIBING THE
RULES BY WHICH THE BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE C0141-'ISSIONERS SHALL BE GOVERNED IN THE
GIVING OF EXAMINATIONS TO APPLICANTS FOR EMPLOYMENT; FIXING THE NUAiBER, CLASSIFI-
CATION AND SALARIES OF ALL EMPLOYEES IN EACH DEPARTMENT WHO SHALL BE AFFECTED BY
THE CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS PROVIDED HEREIN; AND PRESCRIBING THE RULES
AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE CONDUCT OF ALL EMPLOYEES AFFECTED THEREBY AND THE
CAUSES FOR WHICH ANY EMPLOYEE MAY BE REPRIMANDED, SUSPENDED, DISMISSED OR REMOVED
FROM EMPLO'fi•iENT BY THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR AND ESTABLISHING A RETIREMENT SYSTEM
AND THE CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF A PENSION FUND FOR APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES OF THE:
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND AUTHORIZING THE LEVY OF A TAX AND THE ASSESSMENT OF
EMPLOYEES FOR 11THE CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF'SAID FUND; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINT

HENT OF A BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO ADMINISTER SAID FUND; FIXING AND PRESCRIBING THE
QUALIFICATIONS, TERI•;S OF OFFICE, POWERS AND DUTIES OF SAID BOARD OF TRUSTEES;
PRESCRIBING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS BY WHICH SAID BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND ALL
APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES SHALL BE GOVERNED WITH REFERENCE TO THE GRANTING AND ALLOW-
ANCE OF PENSIONS AND OTHER BEiEFITS AND PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, WHICH
VIAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMI'4IS3IONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON
':OVEI'dBER 2$, 1950.
BE IT 03DAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sections 7, S and 9 of an ordinance containing the
title quoted above, which was adopted on December 2, 1947, and amended on
November 28, 1950, be and the same are hereby amended so that said sections as
amended shall read as follows:

SECTIO;: 2. T he salaries in the amounts provided in this ordinance:
shall be paid for services beginning Itiarch 1, 1951, with the exception of
the salary of the Electrical Inspector which salary, as provided in this
ordinance, shall be paid for services beginning February 1, 1951.
SECTIOF 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption, except that the salaries of the employees referred to
herein shall be retroactively effective as provided in Section 2 of this
ordinance.
