AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF GEORGE R. THOMAS FOR THE PURCHASE OF 13
CERTAIN LOTS IN L. D. SANDERS ARCADIA SUBDIVISION FOR THE SUM OF ;40.00 EACH;
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, WHOSE SIGNATURE SHALL BE ATTESTED BY THE CITY CLERK, TO
EXECUTE, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH A DEED OF CONVEYANCE TO THE
LOTS SO PURCHASED; AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID
PROPERTY SHALL BE CONVEYED
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners on
January 9, 1951, the City Manager was requested to advertise for bids for the sale
of certain real estate which the city of Paducah had acquired at Commissioners,
sales held pursuant to judgments rendered in the McCracken Circuit Court; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were submitted as required under the provisions of said
resolution, and George R. Thomas having submitted a bid in the sum of ;40.00 each
for the purchase of the hereinafter described lots, which bid was the only one
submitted and as such is the highest and best;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of George R..Thomas in the
amount of :40.00 each, for each of the following described lots: Lot No -7
in Block No. 6, Lot Nos. 2, 3, and 5 in Block No. 9, Lots Nos. 10, 12, 13 and 14
in Block No. 5, Lot No. 2 in Block No. 6, Lot No. 5 in Block No. 2, Lot No. 15
in Block No. 4, Lot No. 12 in Block No. 1, and Lot No. 2 in Block No. 8 of the
L. D. Sanders Arcadia Subdivision as shown by the Plat of said subdivision recorded
in Plat Book "A", pages 218 and 219 in the office of the County Court Clerk of
McCracken County, Kentucky.
SECTIOId 2. The purchase price for the property described in Section 1 hereof
shall be paid in cash and Stuart Johnston the Mayor of the City of Paducah, whose
signature shall be attested by Sarah Thurman, the City Clerk, is hereby authorized
and empowered, to execute and deliver a deed or deeds of conveyance to the said
George R. Thomas, conveying the above described property to him with covenant
of Special Warranty and subject to any encroachments or other physical conditions
which an accurate survey would show. Such deed or deeds of conveyance shall also
provide that the grantee assume and agree to pay all state andcounty taxes which
are to become due in the year 1951.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
