AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE
ADOPTING THE BUILDING CODE RECOMMENDED BY THE NATIONAL BOARD OF FIRE UNDERWRITERS,
EXCEPT CERTAIN CLAUSES AND SECTIONS THEREOF WHICH ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY ELIMINATED,
AND ALSO ADOPTING THE STANDARDS OF SAFETY APPROVED BY THE DIVISION OF INSURANCE
FIRE PREVENTION AND RATES SECTION OF THE STATE OF KENTUCKY; PROVIDING FOR THE
APPOINTMENT OF A BUILDING INSPECTOR TO ADMINISTER AND ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS
OF THE BUILDING CODE AND THE STANDARDS OF SAFETY; FIXING THE FEES TO BE CHARGED
BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR BUILDING AND WRECKING PERMITS; FIXING AND PRESCRIBING
THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE BUILDING INSPECTOR, HIS COMPENSATION, POWERS AND DUTIES;
PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH
AND FIXING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS ON SEPTEMBER 24TH, 1946, AND AMENDED ON JANUARY 7, 1947.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 3 of an ordinance containing the title quoted
above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on September 24th, 1946,
and amended on January 7, 1947, be, and the same is hereby repealed, amended and
reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"Section 3. The Building Inspector shall, upon his approval of plans and
specifications for buildings and structures in accordance with the provisions
of the Building Code, the Standards of Safety, and all laws and ordinances
relating to the same subject matter, issue a permit to the applicant therefor
upon the payment to the City of Paducah of fees as follows:
"For each building permit covering the construction,alteration or repair
of any building or structure to cost less than -'y100.00 no fee shall be charged
unless an inspection is required in which case there shall be a $2.00 fee; to
cost less than 1x1,000.00 the fee shall be $4.00; to cost $1,000.00 the fee shall
be $4.00 and 25 cents for each additional $100.00 or fractional part thereof up
to $3,000.00; and to cost $3,000.00 the fee shall be $10.00 and $2.00 for each
additional $1,000/00 or fractional part thereof."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are,
to the extent of smch conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect .from and after
its adoption.
