AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF THE OHIO OIL COMPANY FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY
OF PADUCAM OF THE M C 1-2-3 LIQUID ASPHALT AND RC -3 LIQUID ASPHALT TO BE USED BY
SAID CITY DURING THE YEAR 1951, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND
EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID MATERIALS, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS
AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE.
WHEREAS, the City Manager has advertised for bids for liquid asphalt as re-
quired by the resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners on January 30, 1951,
and bhe Ohio Oil Company being the only bidder on said contract, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager having recommended the acceptance of the bid of the
Ohio Oil Company:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the bid of the Ohio Oil Company for the sale to the City of
Paducah of all MC 1-2-3 Liquid Asphalt and RC -3 Liquid Asphalt required by the City
of Paducah during the year 1951 be accepted, and the City Manager is hereby auth-
orized to enter into and execute a contract for the purchase upon the order of
said city of all asphalt to be used during the year 1951, said contract to contain
the following terms, conditions and covenants:
The Company hereby agrees to sell and deliver to the city upon its order the
MC 1-2-3 and RC -3 Liquid Asphalt required in all repair and construction work
during the remainder of the year 1951 at the prices and upon the terms set
forth in said Company's bid as follows:
MC 1-2-3 Liquid Asphalt, $0.1063 per gallon in tank car
quantities (6,500 or $,000 gallon tank cars as desired)
f.o.b. tank cars of City of Paducah track, Sixth and
Campbell Streets, Paducah, Kentucky. Tank cars will be
equipped with steam heater coils and if insulated tank
cars are required, there will be additional charge of
$6.00 per car per trip.
RC -3 Liquid Asphalt, x'0.1063 per gallon for delivery same
manner as provided above for MC asphalts.
The Company further agrees to furnish asphalt which will
meet requirements of Kentucky State Highway Specifi-
cations for the aforesaid respective grades.
Terms: Net 30 days.
In consideration of the agreement of the city to purchase from the Company all
of the aforesaid grades of asphalt required during the remainder of the year 1951,
the Company agrees that the prices for said asphalt shall not exceed tie charges
herein above provided, that in the event of a general advance in the retail price
of asphalt during the aforesaid period the Companyts obligation to sell and deliger
asphalt at the aforesaid prices shall remain and continue in full force and effect,
but in the event of a general decline in the price of said products the city will
be given the benefit of the reduction in price."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Boarc
of Commissioners and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection

in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if
adopted, it shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
