A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE
OF ONE (1) TRACTION DRIVEN ROAD BROOM FOR USE IN THE STREET DIVISION OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH; AND PRESCRIBING THE SPECIFIC TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO BE COMPLIED WITH BY
BIDDERS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise
for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of One (1) Traction Driven Road Broom,
equipped with 2 -way 71 hydraulic controlled broom and two or three speed trans-
mission. Bid price to include one (1) extra broom complete. Each bidder shall
state the amount acceptable in payment of the full purchase price in cash and shall
furnish complete specification of the equipment he proposes to sell. Said price
to be f.o.b. Paducah, Kentucky.
Each bidder shall also state in his bid the date on which he guarantees to
deliver said Broom and shall agree to post a bond totalling 10% of the purchase
price of said Broom, said amount of bond to be subject to forfeiture in event of
failure to deliver within time specified in bid.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up
at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least
one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least
seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days
from the date on which this resolution is adopted. Na bid shall be received unless
under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice for
the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed
in the notice shall be filed with the Board of commissioners who may let the
contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall
reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become
legally obligated to purchase said broom until the adoption of an ordinance
authorizing the execution of a contract.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption..
