HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 222, No Ordinance Number222 AN ORDINANCE FURTHER REVISING THE STAMIENT OF' ANTICIPATED REVENUE OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR 91IE YEAR 1950; PROVIDING FOR ME AEIMIDMENT OF TSIE APPROPRIATION FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES BY THE TRANSFER OF ADDITIONAL ANTICIPATED FUNDS AND CERTAIN UPI USED FUNDS APPROPRIATED FOR ONE PURPOSE TO OTHER PURPOSES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TEEREMITS WHEREAS, under an ordinance revising the statement of anticipated revenues for the year 1950 and amending the appropriation of the public revenue and income collected during said year, which ordinance was adopted on November 28, 1950, and is of record in Ordinance Book 12, page 189 of the official records of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, the total sum of ;'1806,774.24 was anticipated from the various sources of revenue available to the City of Paducah for carrying on its governmental operations during the year 1950; and WHEREAS, said anticipated revenues did not include police court fines in t sum of $3:,111.85 collected by said city during the month of November, 1950, making available total anticipated revenue for said year amount to x}309,886.09; and WHEREAS, it appears that the sums appropriated for certain governmental purposes under the aforesaid ordinance of November 28, 1950, the same being more particularly= identified by the accounts hereinafter referred to, are insufficient for payment of governmental expenses identified by said accounts, and that it is necessary to make available the total sum of ,;x5,915.00 in order to provide the necessary increase in the appropriations as shown in the hereinafter mentioned accounts; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CODU.IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the statement of revenues of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, collected and anticipated for the year 1950 be, qnd the same is hereby revised, and that the Board of Commissioners anticipate for the maintenance of the general government during said year the total sum of x009,886.09. SECTIOI•H 2. That the sum of ;;3,111.85 of the aforesaid total anticipated revenues, the same being the police court fines collected during the month of November, and the s um of :2,803.15 of the Contingent Fund be, and the same are hereby transferred to the various accounts and pLm poses where the amounts appro- priated under the ordinance of November 28, 1950, are insufficient, and that the total sum of tiZ,915.00, said sum representing police court fines collected in the month of November, 1950, and the transfer of the aforesaid sum from the Contingent Fund be, and the same are hereby appropriated for the following purposes and in the following amounts: P23 ;55,975.00 '?5,915.00 $59,890.00 SECTION 3. The provisions of the aforesaid ordinance of November 28, 1950, are, in so far as they are in conflict with this ordinance, or in conflict with any tither ordinance of the City of Paducah, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to cause to be published in the Sun -Democrat a notice of the introduction of this ordinance and of the pro- posal to revise said statement of anticipated revenues and the appropriation for the various governmental purposes in the year 1950, said notice to be published at least one (1) week before this ordinance shall be put upon its final passage. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for public inspection for two reeks in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
