AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON CERTAIN STREETS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON CERTAIN OTHER STREETS;
FIXING THE PENALTY FOR ANY VIOLATION THEREOF; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AVD
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THERE111ITH
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. A loading and unloading zone not exceeding sixty (60) feet in
length marked off in red along the curb line shall be established by the Police
Department of the City of Paducah in each block on and on each side of Second
street, Third street, Fourth street and Fifth street from Kentucky Avenue to
Jefferson street, and on each side of Sixth street from Broadway to Jefferson
street, and an operator of a vehicle may stop or park in said loading zones at
any time and without limit as to time for the purpose of loading or unloading of
passengers or materials.
SECTION 2. A loading and unloading zone not exceeding sixty (60) feet in
length marked off in red along the curb line shall be established by the Police
Department of the City of Paducah in each block on and on each side of Kentucky
Avenue, Broadway and Jefferson street from Second street to Seventh street, and
an operator of a vehicle may stop or park in said loading zones at any time and
without limit as to time for the purpose of loading or unloading of passengers
or materials.
SECTION 3. It shall be unlawful for the operator of a vehicle of a vehicle
of any kind to stop or park in any of the loading zones referred to in Sections
1 and 2 hereof for any purpose except for the loading or unloading of passengers
or materials, or to stop or park a vehicle therein for a longer period of time
than is reasonably necessary for passengers to alight from or to take passage in
a vehicle, or for the loading or unloading of materials.
SECTION 4. The Police Department of the City of Paducah is hereby authorized
to determine the exact location of the loading zones provided for in Sections 1
and 2 hereof and it shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to cause to be painted
and at all times maintained a line stenciled in letters "Loadin_ and unloading
zone" upon the tops of all curbs and the places specified in this ordinance.
SECTION 5. Vehicles may be stopped or parked for mail service only on the west
side of Fifth Street between Broadway and Jefferson street adjacent to the United
States Government property on which the post office is situated, and on the north
side of Broadway adjacent to said property, and it shall be unlawful for any
person to stop or park a vehicle in either of said zones for any other purpose,
or to stop or park a vehicle therein for a longer period of time than is reasonably
necessary to mail letters, packages or other postal matter, or to obtain or receive
mail, packages or other such matter.

SECTION 6. Any person violating or failing to comply with any of the pro-
visions

visions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not less than Five (x.00) Dollars, and
not more than Twenty ($20.00) Dollars for each offense.
SECTION 7. The provisions of this ordinance are severable and if any pro-
vision, section, paragraph, sentence or part thereof shall be held invalid, such
decision shall not affect or impair the remainder of this ordinance, it being the
legislative intent to ordain and enact each provision, paragraph, sentence and
part thereof separately and independently of each other.
SECTION 8. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are,
to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 9. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
