BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C01,1=33I0NERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City i,ianager be, and he is hereby authorized to employ
two competent physicians to give a sufficient amount of their time to the care and
treatment of indigent white citizens of the City of Paducah. It shall be the duty
of the City Physicians to perform all medical services and give such mdtdical
treatment as may be required by persons who are unable to pay for necessary medical
aid and treatment. They shall maintain a schedule of office hours as may be
approved by the City 1Lanager and they shall also be subject to the direction_ and
control of the City I:anager in the performance of their duties.
SECTiO:d 2. The compensation of each of the City Physicians shall be ,:300
per month for his services beginning October 16, 1950, the amount of his salary to
be paid at the same time as the salaries of other city employees are paid. The sum
of ;;1937.50 is hereby transferred from the Contingent Fund in order to provide the
sum necessary for payment of the increased salaries of the City Physicians for the'
services from October lo, 1950, to January 1, 1951, and the City Clerk is hereby
authorized to cause to be published in the Sun -Democrat a notice of the introductio
of this ordinance and the proposal to make the t ansfer of funds as provided herein
said notice to be published at least one week before this ordinance shall be put
upon its final passage.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the
Board of Commissioners and remain on file for public inspection for two weeks in
the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and it shall i
be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
SECTIOR S. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
