CONTRACT ENTERED INTO BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND THE PADUCAH BUS COli:PAidY
ON AUGUST 28, 1952, under the provisions of an ORDINANCE ENTITLED• -1AId ORDINANCE
DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO SELL A FRANCHISE
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASER TO MINTAIN AND OPERATE iIOTOR PASSENGER BUSES OVER
AND UPON THE STREETS, AVENUES AND PUBLIC MAYS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND
FIXING THE TERI•IS AND CONDITIONS OF THE EXERCISE OF SAID GRANT", ::1HICH ORDIIIAKC2

AMENDED CONTRACT TO BE REFERRED TO AS THE EIGHTH SUPPLEI•INTAL CONTRACT; PRE-
SCRIBING THE TERI-IS AND CONDITIONS TO BE CONTAINED IN SAID A2,2NDED CONTRACT
AND AUTHORIZING THE I1AYOR TO EXECUTE SAID Ai-MNDED CONTRACT FOR AMID Oil BEHALF OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COIIIIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Subsection (b) of Paragraph numbered 2 and that Paragral
numbered 4 of the Seventh Supplemental Contract entered into between the City of
Paducah and the Paducah Bus Company on August 28, 1952, which paragraphs of said
`contract .are in :cords and figures as follows, to -writ:
"(2) That until the cancellation of this contract in the manner herein-
after provided, the company shall maintain as a minimum the operation of buses
over the following routes now established and in effect and under the folloirsng
schedules:
;1(b) Avondale Route extending from 3rd and Broadway south on 3rd Street
to Kentucky Avenue; thence crest on Kentucky Avenue to 9ti? Street; thnnce north
-to Jefferson Street; thence wrest to the intersection of 36th and Pines Road and
return to 3rd and Broadway, with operating schedule making bus service available
at intervals of time not exceeding 40 minutes from each regular stop on said Rout
"(4) Except as modified by this Seventh Supplemental Contract all the
terms, agreements, conditions and covenants contained in the aforesaid Sixth
Supplemental Contract and the aforesaid franchise ordinance shall remain and
continue in full force and effect and the same shall be in effect until the
cancellation of this contract in the manlier set out above.01
Be and the same are hereby amended so that said sections and paragraphs
as amended shall read as follows:
f1(2) That until the cancellation of this contract in the mailr_er herein-
after provided, the comppny shall maintain as a minimtun the operation ce buses
over the following routes now established and in effect and under the following
schedules:
"(b) Avondale route extending from First and Broadway north
on First :street to Jefferson; thence Hest on Jefferson_ Street to 'clic intersects
of 36th and Pines Road; and return to First and Broadway, with operating schedu
making bus service available at intervals of time not exceeding 40 minutes from
each re;;ulaa stop on said route.
"(4) Exczpt as modified by this Eighth Supplemental Contract all the
terms, agreements, conditions and covenants contained in the aforesaid Seventh
Supplemental Contract and the aforesaid franchise ordinance shall remain and
continue in full force and effect and the same shall be in effect until the
cancellation of this contract in the manner set out above."
S2 CTIO12. That Robert C. Cherry, :;ayor of the City of Paducah,
be, and he is hereby, authorized for and on behalf of the City, to enter into
a contract containing; the aforesaid amendments, said contract to be referred to
as the Ijighth Supplemental Contract and to be effective on the 6th day of
December, 1953.
SECTIO:•: 3. all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby -repealed.
SECTIOF 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
