SCCT1011 1. That the City 11anager be, and he is hereby authorized to
advertise for the purchase of five 6 -cubic yard steel refuse containers of
a type to permit pickzap by truck and hoist of 7,500 pounds aopaci ty, four
of said re,Juse containers to be designed in the style of the apartment type,
drop -bottom, with one door in each end, and one refuse container to be
designed in the style of the standard skip type container with lip, as manu-
factured by Dempster Brothers, Incorporated, or equal.
Each bidder shall submit under seal his lowest and best bid .for the afore-
said equipment, said price to be f.o.b. Paducah, Kentucky. Bidders will also
give the earliest reliable delivery date and length of ,guarantee on said
equipment.
SE, CTION R. The City manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice
at the City Hall door and bzj inserting notice of the request for bids in at
least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and
published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid
shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution
is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for
the opening of bids. All bids received by the City manager up to the time
fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of
Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest and best responsible
bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any
and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said
equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a
contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
