AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION I OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERETITTH",
WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 11, 1951
AND A19E1VDED ON MARCH 3, 1953
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above, which was adopted on December, 11, 1951, and amended on
March 3, 1953, be, and the sane is hereby amended and reordatned
so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 1. The n_unber and rank of members of the Fire Depart-
ment of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided said
salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinano= here-
after adopted shall be as follows:

Provided, however, that any fireman hereafter appointed, during
his first year of service shall receive a salary of x'245 per month and
upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by
the City Manager on recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly
salary shall be increased to x255 for the 2nd year of service, and
upon completion of a 2nd year of satisfactory service as determined by
the City Manager on recommendation of the Five Chief, his monthly
salary shall be increased to the sum of,$R65. Provided further that
in the case of firemen presently appointed and employed in the Fire
Department the salary of such firemen during their first year of
service shall be $855.00 per month, and upon completion of this first
year of satisfactory service as determined by the City Manager on
recommendation of the Fire Chief, said salary shall he increased to
x'265 per month. Bat those firemen presently appointed and employed

in the fire department for a period of more than one(1) year from
the date of their appointment shall receive a salary of $B65 per month."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in fu11 force and effect
from and after June 1, 1953.
