A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF ONE BOOKKEEPING MACHINE FOR USE IN THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT, AND
PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH BIDS SHALL BE SUBMITTED
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) new bookkeeping
machine to post cash receipts and disbursements; distribute ad valorem taxes,
payroll disbursements and withholding; typewritten reports for the City Manager
showing departmental expenditures and detail breakdown of revenue, and the billing
of ad valorem taxes. Detailed specifications are on file in the office of the
City Treasurer. Each bidder shall state the amount acceptable in payment of the
full amount of the purchase price in cash, and shall submit a complete description
showing equipment of the machine he propoees to supply.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted
up at the city ahll door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at
least one issue of the Paducah Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and
published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be
opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted.
No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bids be received after
the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received ipy the
City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of
Commissioners who may let the contract.to the lowest responsible bidder. The
Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right -to reject any and all bids and
the city shall not become legally obligated to purchase said machine until the
adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
