A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
PURCHASE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF SEWER PIPE,WYE BRANCHES AND STOPPERS, THE
SAME TO BE USED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, AND PRESCRIBING THE
SPECIFICATIONS TO BE COMPLIED WITH BY BIDDERS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to
advertise for bids for the purchase of .the following material:
3680 feet 15-inch.clay sewer pipe, 4 -foot lengths
525 feet 12 -inch clay s3wer pipe, 3 -foot lengths
20 feet 10-inch.clay sewer pipe, 2t -foot lengths
30 feet 8 -inch clay sewer pipe, 2T -foot lengths
10 feet 6 -inch clay sewer pipe, 2�-foot lengths
125 pieces 6 -inch on 15 -inch wye branch, 3 -foot lengths
16 pieces 6 -inch on 12 -inch wye branch, 3 -foot lengths
1 piece 12 -inch clay stopper
7 pieces 10 -inch clay stopper
9 pieces 8 -inch clay stopper
-145 pieces 6 -inch clay stopper
The pipe and fitting shall meet ASTM specifications c13 -50T for standard
strength clay sewer pipe and shall be delivered F.O.B. job site in truck lot as
requested by the City.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a
notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for
bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be
posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids
and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which
this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed
in the notice for the opehing of bids. All bids received by the City
Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall
be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the
lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the
right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally
obligated to purchase said sewer pipe, wye branches and stoppers until the
adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
