AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF ATTORNEYS TO REPRESENT THE CITY OF PACUCAH,
KENTUCKY IN LEGAL MATTERS; FIXING THE NUMBER TO BE EMPLOYED AND THE AMOUNT OF
THEIR COMPENSATION; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SUCH ATTORNEYS; AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THERE11ITH11, WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
ON APRIL 24, 1951, AND AMENDED ON JULY 22, 195P
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 5 of an ordinance containing the title quoted
above, which ordinance was adopted on April 24, 1951, and amended on July 22,
1952, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so -that said section
as amended and reordained-sha11 read as. follows: .
i1SECTION 5. That the City 11%nager is hereby authorized to employ for
the City of Paducah an attorney to be designated as Special Counsel who shall
represent the city in the litigation involving the acquisition of the electric
utilities system of the Kentucky Utilities Company, said employment to be retro-
actively effective as of i,arch 1, 1953 and to continue until October 1, 1953•
The Attorney employed as such Special Counsel shall be entitled to receive a
salary of 0300.00 per month, the amount to be paid in the same manner and at the
same time as the salaries of other employees of the city are paid.,
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
