A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR
THE PURCHASE OF THE CIMS REQUIREMENT OF LIMESTONE AND PEA GRAVEL FOR THE YEAR
1953 (APPROXIMATELY 6,000 TO 8,000 TONS) TO BE USED IPI STREET CONSTRUCTION wORK.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C01-114ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY;
SECTION 1. That the City 1 -Tanager be and he is hereby authorized to
advertise for bids for the purchase of the Cityps requirement of limestone and
pea gravel for the year 1953 (approximately 6,000 to 8,000 tons). The bid
price to be f.o.b. city track at 6th and Campbell Streets, Paducah, Kentucky.
Limestone to be delivered as ordered in 100 to 300 ton lots. Supplier to
guarantee delivery of each order within seven days, and said limestone must
meet the specifications known and listed as Kentucky State Highway specific-
ations for No. 9 and No. 10 limestone. Pea gravel to be 3/8 inch and 1/2
inch in size and to be delivered as required. The successful bidder may be
required to furnish representative samples of any or all items and all weights
of delivered materials must be certified at the City of Paducah scales.
SECTION 2. The City I•Ianager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice
at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at
least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published
at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened
within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. Pto bid
shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids.
All bids received by the City 1 -Tanager up to the time fixed in the notice for
the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may
let the bid to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders. The right shall be
reserved to reject any and all bids, and all bids shall provide a guarantee
against advance in the marker price, and also a reduction in price in the
event of a decline in the market price. All bids shall be on a unit price
per ton.
SECTIOPi 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
