PURCHASE OF T1.10 NEW FOUR -DOOR AUTOgOBILES FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND
PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON I774ICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C011AISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to
advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of two (2) new, four -door
automobiles, black color, to be used in the police department of the City of
Paducah. Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase price of the automobile he offers for sale, and also the amount he will
accept in payment of the purchase price for said two new automobiles by accepting
as trade-ins Police Cars Nos. 4 and 6, which bear license numbers 5584 and 5582
respectively, so the city can determine the cost of purchasing two new cars and
the trade-in allowance therefor. Each bidder shall state in his bid the length
of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up
at the city hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least
one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least
seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days
from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received
unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notic
for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time
fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let
the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall
reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally
obligated to purchase said automobiles until the adoption of an ordinance
authorizing the execution of a contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
