BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COIJI•iISST0IJERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCATl, MVTUCYY:
SECTION Z. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above, which was adopted on December, 11, 1951, and amended on
January 30, 1953, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained
so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION I. The number and rank of members of the Fire Depart-
ment of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided said
salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance hereafter
adopted shall be as follows:

Provided, however, that any fireman hereafter appointed, during
his first year of service shall receive a salary of "24.5 per month and
upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by
the City,.anager or, recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly
salary shall be increased to '.255 for the 2nd year of service, and
upon completion of a 2nd year of satisfactory service as determined by
the City:-ianager on recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly
salary shall be increased to the sum of 1265. Provided further that
in the case of firemen presently appointed and employed in the Fire
Department the salary(r such firemen during their first year of
service shall be s255.per month, and upon completion of this first
year of satisfactory service as determined by the City -tanager on
recommendation of the Pire Chief, said salary shall be increased to
,.'265 per month. fat those firemen presently appointed and ev.plo.7/ed
in the fire department for a period of more than one (1) year from

the date of their appointment shall receive a salary of '265 per month".
SECTIOIr 2. The rates of pay provided for in Sectior, 1 hereof
shall be retroactively effective as of the first day of <Tanvary, 1953, and
any expense incurred as a result of said raises shall be considered a
current departmental expense of the .fire department and shall be
provided for as such in the 1953 Apportionment Ordinance when adopted.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
