A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF TWO NEW FOUR -DOOR AUTOMOBILES FOR USE IPI THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS ON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COD-11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to ad-
vertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of two (2) new, four -door
automobile, black, color, to be used in the Police Department of the City of
Paducah. Each bidder is to state the amount that he will accept in cash for the
purchase price and each bid shall state the length of time required for delivery
after a contract is awarded.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted
up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids at
least in one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and
published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall
be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted.
No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after
the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the
City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of
Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The
Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to r ject any and all bids and the
City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said automobile until the
adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
