AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND COIWEYANCE OF PART OF LOT 19,
BLOCK 11, CHAMBLIN, HURRAY AND BROWN ADDITION AND PRESCRIBING THE TER11S
AND CONDITIONS =REOP
WHEREAS the City of Paducah is the record owner of Lot 19 Block 11
in Chambl in, 1fi47-ray and Brown Addition to the City of Paducah a large
part of which lot will be included in the right of way boundaries of
the proposed Belt Line I%ghway to be constructed by the Commonwealth of
Kentucky; and
FlHEREAS Lot 18 in Block 11 in said addition is owned by John
Bailey Carroll and adjoins Lot 19, and said John Bailey Carroll has agreed
that the value of that part of his lot 18 to be taken for the Belt Line
right of way of 5150.00; and
WHEREAS the Department of Highways and John Bailey Carroll propose
that if the City of Paducah will convey the remainder of its lot 19
to said Carroll that the :-150.00 for Carrollrs lot shall be credited to
said City, and the City believing that said amount is a fair price for
the part of Lot 19 proposed to be conveyed to Carroll,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CO1§11SSI0NE_RS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Paducah is hereby authorized
and directed to contract and/or convey directly to John Bailey Carroll
that portion of Lot 19, Block 11 in the Chamblin, I-larray and Brown Addition
the the City of Paducah which shall remain after subtracting that part
of said lot which will constitute the Belt Line right of way as shown
bey plans thereof in the City Engineer's office, and to this end the
Mayor is authorized to execute such agreement as may be required by the
Kentucky Highway Department,
SECTION,?. The consideration to be received by the City shall be the
sum of ;150.00 which amount instead of being paid directly to the City
by the State of Kentucky shall be credited to the City and be used to
reduce the city's amount for the rights of way for said highway pursuant
to the understanding that the City is obligated for one-third of the
cost of such rights of way.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in fall force and effect from.
and after its adoption.
