SECTIO:T 1. that the City of Paducah accept the bid of laugh
Alderson, doin,r business an the Alderson 3levat-or Company, in the
mount os' ,.1,242.00 for conversion of the City ?fall elevator to

authorized and empowered for and on behalf of the City of Paducah
to anter into a contract with the said Ruth Alderson for such
conversion of said elevator, which contract shall contain the
folloninC agreements, eondltiona and covenants:

(3) To pay Lo worluaen the prevailin uagos for the hind of
work required for the aforesaid conversion, and to comply with all
1nwo, ordinances and rogulations of the state, county or city.
It is understood and agreed that the aforesaid contract price
for said conversion of the City Hall elevator shall be paid whon
the work has been completed and has boon approved by the City
I-anager. "
SECTION 2. 'This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular
meeting of the Loard of Commissioners and shall remain on file one
week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall
be put upon its f --nal passage. Inasmuch as it is necessary to
enter into this contract immediately in order to use funds appro-
priated in the 1949 a:_r.orpriation ordinance for this purpose, the
rublie health, safety and welfare of the City of Paducah require
chat an emergency be declared, and this ordinance shall be In full
=orce from and after its adoption.
