SEC T--' 0' .1 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, to enter into
a contract with the Vid-Continent Petroleum Corporation for the
purchase of regular gasoline at a price not to exceed 21.4r per
gallon; also Ethyl gasoline at a price not 'to exceed 22.9r per
gallon; also for the purchase of First Grade :.Iotor Oil (Diamond
!--rand), SAE Grades 10-20-30-40-50, at 43,rl per gallon (in 55 Cal.
drums) exclusive of any v'edcral excise tax; and also Detergent
1,otor Oil (-".' -rand) SAE Grades 10-20-30-40-50, at 56r per gallon
(in 55 gal. drums), exclusive of any -adel;al excise tax; said
gasoline and oil to be purchased upon the order of the City of
Paducah for use in governmental operations for a period of four
months beginning 3eptember 1, 1949, and upon the terms and con-
ditions set forth in the written bid of said company received and
filed b.,r the fEosrd of Commissioners on August 1-0, 1949, said terms
and conditions as set forth in said bid being referred to and made
a part o his ordinance to the same extent as if full", copied
herein.
SECTION 2. The contract under which said C-asoline and oil
will be purchased shall fully provide that in tie event of a de-
cline in the retail price of said products at any time during said
neriod, the city shall ;liven the benefit of reduction in price,
and the City 1,:ana3er shall include in said contract such additional
terms and conditions as may be necessary to protect the interests
of the City of Paducah.
SFCTI10;,1 3., This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular
meeting of the ioard of Commissioners and remain on file at least
one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it
shall be put upon its final passa-e.
As the various departments of the City must be immediately
supplied with gasoline and oil for the ivotoction of the public
health, safety and welfate, an emergency is hereby declared to exis
and this ordinance shall be in full force and eff from and after
