AN ORDINANCE ORDERING AN ELECTION FOR MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO FILL THE VACANCY CREATED BY THE DEATII OF
MAYOR GENE PEAK, PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF SAID ELECTION AT THE
NEXT PRIMARY AND REG; LAR ELECTION PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF
KRS 89.440, 89.450 AND 89.460, AND CERTIFYING THIS ORDINANCE TO THE
COUNTY COURT CLERK OF MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KENTUCItY, FOR THAT PURPOSE;
VIIIREAS, the Hon. Gene Peak, &Iayor of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, departed this life on the 23rd day of July, 1949, and it
is necessary to elect a mayor to fill the unexpired term of the
said Mayor Gene Peak.
N01.7 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMI3S1OPi
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. An election is hereby ordered in the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, under and pursuant to the provisions of KRS
89.440, 89.450 and 89.460, the primary to be held on the 24th day cf
September, 1949, and the regular election on the 8th day of November,
1949, between the hours of and by the same election officers con-
ducting the primary and regular elections to be held on said dates,
for the purpose of electing a mayor of the City of Paducah, Kentuclly,
to serve for the unexpired term of the said Gene Peak.
SEC TIOII 2. The City Clerk shall certify this ordinance
to the County Court Clerk of I:IcCracken County, Kentucky, who shall
advertise said elections, print ballots therefor, and comply with
all of the provisions of the aforesaid statutes.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and of
from and after its adoption.
