EQUIVALENCE ISSUED BY THE U. S. ARMED FORCES INSTITUTE SHALL BE
ACCEPTABLE AS THE EQUIVALENT OF A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA FOR PURP03ES
OF 04PLOYI-ENT BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONMi S OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, IMNTUCRY:
SECTION I. That for purposes of meeting a requirement of higt
school graduation for employment in the police department, fire
department, or any other department or position filled by appoint-
ment of the City I:anager, a Certificate of High School Equivalence,
issued on a basis of successful completion of the General Education
Development Test administered and approved under supervision of the
U. S. Armed Forces Institute, shall be accepted as the equal of a h
school diploma and persons possessing such certificates need not be
high school graduates.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
