AN ORDINAIiCE ESTABLISHING TIIE NU'_ER, RANKS AND T.:ONTHLY
SALARIES OF MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND REiEALING ALL
ORDINANCES Ili CONFLICT HERE;NITH
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The number and ranks of members of the Police
Department of the City of Paducah, and their monthly salaries,

provided said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment
ordinance adopted hereatter, shall be as follows:

Sergeant 5 205.00
Policeman 24 200.00
Provided, however, that a new member of this department,
during his first year of service, shall receive a salary of 4190.00
per month, and upon the completion of a year of satisfgctory servic
as determined by the City Manager on recommendation of the Chief of
Police, his monthly salary shall be increased to the amount shown
above.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be retroactively effective
on and after January 1, 1949, and the salaries authorized herein
shall be paid for services rendered on and aftep January 1, 1949.
