AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF THE OHIO OIL COMPANY
FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF THE Id C 1-2-3 LIQUID ASPHAL
AND R C - 3 LIQUID ASPHALT TO BE USED BY SAID CITY DURING THE YEAR
1947, AND AU UfORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AI7D EXECUTE A
CONTRACT FOR THE PURCIiASE OF SAID tATERIALS, AND PRESCRIBING THE
TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER 71HICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE 14ADE
VVHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Board
Of Commissioners on March 25, 1947, the City Manager advertised
for bids for the purchase of all M C 1-2-3 and R.C.-3 Liquid
Asphalt required by the City during the remainder of the year
1947; and,
f'IHEREAS, the City Manager having advertised for bids
as required by the provisions of said resolution and having
received the bids of the Ohio Oil Company, the American Liberty
Oil Company and the Lion Oil Company; and,
7oMREAS, the city Manager havings recommended the
acceptance of the bid of the Ohio Oil Company;
N0W THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COLT,IISSIONER
OF TIfE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY;
SEC TION 1.
That the bid of the Ohio Oil Company for the sale to the
City of Paducah of all it, C 1-2-3 Liquid Asphalt and R C -3 Liquid
Asphalt required by the City of taducah during the year 1947 be
accepted, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into
and execute a contract for the purchase upon the order of said city
of all asphalt to be used during the year 1947, said contract to
contain the following terms, c onditions and covenants:
"The Company hereby agrees to sell and deliver to the
City upon its order the M C 1-2-3 and R C - 3 Liquid Asphalt
required in all repair and construction work during the
remainder of the year 1947 at the prices and upon the terms
set forth in said Company's bid as follows:
"LIC 1-2-3 Liquid Asphalt :0.0854 per gallon in tank
car quantities (6500 gallon tank cars as desired)
f.o.b. tank cars on city track, 6th & Campbell
Streets, Paducah, Kentucky. Tank cars will be equip-
ped with steam heater coils and if insulated tank cars
are required there will be additional charge of ;,6.00
per car per trip.
RC Liquid Asphalt 40.0879 per gallon for delivery same
manner as provided on MC Asphalts above.
Terms: Net 30 days."
"The Company further agrees to furnish asphalt which
will meet the requirements of the Kentucky State Highway
Specifications for the aforesaid respective grades.

"In consideration of the agreement of the City to purch se
from the Company all of the aforesaid grades of asphalt requir d
during the remainder of the year 1947, the Company agrees that
the prices for said asphalt shall not exceed the charges herei -
above provided, that in the event of a general advance in the
retail price of asphalt during the aforesaid period the Company's
obli_aation to sell and deliver asphalt at the aforesaid prices
shall remain and continue in full force and effect, but in the
event of a general decline in the price of said products the
City will be given the benefit of the reduction in price."
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of
the Board of Commissioners and remain on file at least one (1) wee
for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be p t
upon its final passage, and if adopted, it shall be in full force
and effect ten (10) days thereafter/
