AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF A PUBLIC ALLEY
25 FEET IN WIDTH RUNNING FROM 25TH STREET TO 26TH STREET THROUGH
THE 14IDDLE OF THE BLOCK BETWEEN BROADWAY XND KENTUCKY AVENUE IN
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND AUTHORIZING THE CORPORATION 14
COUNSEL TO INSTITUTE IN THE McCRACKEN CIRCUIT COURT A SUIT FOR
THE PURPOSE OF HAVING LEGALLY CLOSED THE ALLEY AUTHORIZED TO BE
CLOSED UNDER THIS ORDINANCE
WHLREAS, the West Kentucky Baptist Memorial Hospital,
Incorporated, has become the purchaser of all of the property
within that certain block in the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
bounded on the east by 25th Street on the West by 26th Street,
on the North by Broadway and on the South by Kentucky Avenue
with the exception of a lot fronting 70 feet on the South side
of Broadway and running back along 25th Street a distance of
160.75 feet, which lot is orned by J. H. Mlartin; and,
WHEREAS, the West Kentucky Baptist I.?emorial Hospital,
Incorporated, is about to construct a hospital upon the aforesaid
property and the public alley 25 feet in width running from 25th
Street to 26th Street through the block between Broadway and
Kentucky Avenue will no longer be necessary for use as a public
alley;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C01,21IS SION ERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SEC TIOU 1.
That a certain public alley 25 feet in width running from
25th Street to 26th Street throu;h the middle of the block between
Broadway and Kentucky Avenue, which alley is more particularly
described as follows, to -wit:
"Beginning at a point on the west side of 25th Street
160.75 feet south of the southwest corner of 25th and
Broadway; thence in a westerly direction and parallel
with the south line of Broadway 400 feet; thence at
right angles and in a southerly direction 25 feet;
thence at right angles and in an easterly direction
and parallel with the south line of Broadway 400 feet;
thence at right angles in a northerly direction
25 feet to the point of beginning."
be and the same is hereby ordered to be closed, and the Corporat
Counsel is hereby authorized and directed to institute in the
McCracken Circuit Court a suit for the purpose of carrying into
effect the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
