A RESOLUTION EXEMPTING FROM MUNICIPAL TAXATION FOR A PERIOD
OF FIVE YEARS THE MANUFAC huRING BUSINESS AND PROPERTIES OF THE RAY -
0 -VAC COMPANY AI?D TIE PADUCAH BATTERY COIdPANY, MANUFACTURERS OF DRY
CELL BATTERIES AT 9TH AND HARRISON STREETS IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY.
WHEREAS, The Ray -O -Vac Company is the owner of the plant and
machinery used for the manufacture of dry cell batteries at 9th and
Harrison Streets.in Paducah, Kentucky, and the Paducah Battery Comp,
is engaged in. the manufacture of said batteries under a manufacturii
contract with the Ray -O -Vac Company; and
-.IIEREAS, The Ray -O -Vac Company and the Faducah Battery Company
have submitted to the Board of Commissioners their application for
exemption from municipal taxation on all of the manufacturing prop-
erties and their business located at the aforesaid address; and,
711EREA3, It appearing from said application that the plant and
factory of said companies will be a new and bona fide manufacturing
establishment and as such is exempt from taxation by the City of
Paducah under the statutes of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the
ordinance of the City of Paducah, said companies being entitled to
an exemption from taxation for a period of five years as an induce-
ment to the operation of said manufacturing plant in the City of
Paducah.
N9,7, TIiEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
TEE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the plant and the machinery of the Ray -O -Vac Company
located at 9th and Farrison Streets in Paducah, Kentucky, together
with the real estate owned by said company at that location, and
such manufacturing machinery and property as may be owned by the
Paducah Battery Company at the same location be, and the same is
hereby exempt from the payment to the City of Paducah of all
ad valorem and license taxes with the exception of the taxes due
and payable for school purposes for a period of five years,
beginning with the ad valorem assessment which will become due
and payable in the year 1949 and the license taxes which will
become due and payable during the year 1948.
SECTION 2.
Tnis Resolution shall be in full force a ffect from and
after its adoption.
