AN ORDINANCE Ai:"ENDING SECTION 2 OF AN ORDINANCE EITTITLM:
"Ail ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUILDING CODE RECOMMENDED BY THE
NATIONAL BOARD OF FIRE UNDERIURITERS, EXCEPT CERTAIN CLAUSES AND
SECTIONS THEREOF WHICH ARE IiEREBY EXPRESSLY ELIMINATED, AND ALSO
ADOPTING THE STANDARDS OF SAFETY APPROVED BY THE DIVISION OF
INSURANCE FIRE PREVENTION ASID RATES SECTION OF THE STATE OF
KENTUCKY; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A BUILDING INSPECTOR
TO ADMINISTER AITD ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS OF THE BUILDING CODE
AND 'IIIE STANDARDS OF SAFETY; FIXING THE FEES TO BE CHARGED BY
TFIE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR BUILDING AND WRECKING PERT.iITS; FIXING
AND PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE BUILDING INSPECTOR,
HIS COMPENSATION, POWERS AND DUTIES; PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY
CLAUSE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND
FIXING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF", WHICH WAS ADOPTED
BY THE BOARD OF CO&L"I3SIONERS ON SEPTEIJBER 24, 1946, AND
AMENDED ON DECEEIBER 3, 1946.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BARD OF COMT,.-IISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That Section 2 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above be repealed, amended and re -ordained so that said
section as amended and re -ordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 2. In order to further effectively put into
operation said Building Code mentioned and described in
Section 1 hereof, the STANDARDS OF SAFETY adopted and app-
iroved by the Division of Insurance, Fire Prevention and Rates
vSection of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, (the 1946 Edition
as the same was adopted and approved by the Director, Division
of Insurance, in accordance with Chap. 227, Sec. 227.030 (2)
KRS 1944 Revised) and Article XIX thereof as amended and
revised by the Director of the Division of Insurance, together
with any and all amendments or revisions of said Standards of
Safety as the same may be adopted and published, are hereby
adopted, and the provisions thereof are hereby carried into
full force and effect as fully and to the same extent as if
cited and copied in detail in this ordinance, and a copy of
said Standards of Safety, together with the aforesaid revision
of Article XIX thereof, are hereby filed with and made a part
hereof, said copy to be treated as a part of this ordinance to
the same extent as if fully copied herein and spread at large
upon the ordinance book of the City of Paducah".
SECTION 2.
Any person, firm, company, corporation or association
violating any of the provisions of this ordinance or any

provision of the Standards of Safety mentioned and described
in Section 2 hereof, or failing, to comply with any provision
of Article XIX thereof as amanded or revised, shall be fined

not less than ;10.00 nor more than u100.00 for each violation
hereof and each day or each time this ordinance or the re-
quirements or provisions of the aforesaid Standards of Safety
or of the aforesaid amendment thereof are violated shall
constitute a separate offense.
SEC TI0ii 3.
If any section of this ordinance shall be adjud5ed or
held invalid for any cause, it shall not thereby cause or
result in the voiding or invalidating of any other section of
this ordinance. It is hereby declared as the legislative
intent that this ordinance would have been adopted if such
void or invalid section had not been included therein.

3ECT_OiI 4.
If any provision of the aforesaid Standards of Safety
or of Article XIX thereof as amended or revised, shall 'cc adjudged
or held invalid for any cause, it shall not thereby cause or
result in the voiding or invalidating of any other provision of
said Standards of Safety or of Article XIX thereof as amended;
it is hereby declared to be the legislative intent that each
and all of the remaining provisions of said Standards of Safety
and of Article XIX thereof as amended would have been adopted
had such void or invalid provision not been included therein.
SECTION 5.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
Aare, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 6.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption. '
