AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KING-WOODALL
MOTOR SALES FOR SALE OF THREE (3) 1948 PLYMOUTH SPECIAL DELUXE
FOUR DOOR SEDANS BY TRADING IN FOR SAID NE'll AUTOMOBILES POLICE
CARS BEARING 1948 KENTUCKY LICENSE NU14BERS 5037, 5039 AND 5040,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE
PURCHASE THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid
of King-Vloodall Motor Sales in the sum of $2,684.00 for the
purchase of three (3) 1948 Plymouth special deluxe four door
sedans, said sum representing the difference between the
sale price for the said three new automobiles and the trade-in
value allowed by the said King-;400dall Motor Sales for police
jcars bearing 1948 Kentucky license numbers 5037, 5039 and 5040.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is
Thereby authorized to enter into and execute, for and on behalf
of the City of Paducah, a contract for the purchase of the
aforesaid new automobiles from King-Uloodall Motor Sales, provided
said company shall execute and deliver to the City of Paducah a
bond guaranteeing delivery of said automobiles within thirty (30)
(days after the date of said contract, and provided further that
(said contract contains such other covenants and conditions which
Ithe City Manager may w ish to impose.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a
.regular meeting of the koard of Commissioners and remain on file
for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which
it shall be put upon its final passage, but it being necessary
for the police Department to be immediately furnished with said
three (3) automobiles as soon as possible to replace police cars
bearing 1948 Kentucky license numbers 5037, 5039 and 5040 in order
to properly and efficiently patrol the streets and enforce the
ordinances of the City of Paducah and the statutes of the State of
Kentucky for the protection of the public health and safety, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be i
