TF_" EXECUTION OF A PER:'ORi'.-YCE BOND BY THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER
AND PRESCRIZING 4HE LSANNER IN 'WHICH SAID BIDS SHALL BE
SUB11ITTED. '
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COI,-,1SIS3IONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City Tf=anager be, and he is hereby authorized
and empowered to advertise for bids for the purchase of 250
additional parking meters to be installed in the business
district and on the streets and in t. -e blocks to be hereafter
desil,nated by the Board of Commissioners. Bidders shall sub-
mit in writinC their offers statin the purchase price for
each meter which shall be so operated as to permit legal
parkin;, for a period of twelve (12) minutes for each 1¢ de-
posited, ane (1) hour for each 5� deposited, and each meter
shall to so constructed as to allow a total legal parking time
of two (2) hours. For the purchase price stated in the bid
the successful bidder shall also be reo_uired to install the
meters without expense to the city, and one-half of the receipts
from the operation of said meters shall be paid to the successful
bidder until the entire purchase price for all meters has been
paid., Provided, however, it shall be understood and agreed
that the city shall retain for the purpose of defraying the
cost of maintenance and repair work, the sum of 25y per month
for each meter which is to be purchased.
SECTTO', 2.
Each bidder shall state in his bid that he is vrillinr,
to execute and deliver to the City of _Taducah a bond in the penal
sum of '"2000.00 for installation of the re ters not later than
dj�:ly 1, 1948, provided the contract is let by the Board of
Comnissioners not later than '.'ay 15, 1949, said bond to ce in
substance satisfactory to the City i,_ana3er and in the form which
will be acproved by the Attorney for the City.
SECT ION 3.
,rhe City :,'anaC.er shall advertise for the purchase and
installation of said meters by posting up a notice at the City
hall door and by inserting, a notice of the rec nest for bids in
at least one (1) issue of the bun -Democrat. The notice shall be
posted and published for at least seven (8) days prior to the

opening of bids and the bids shall not be opened within ten (10)
days from the date on vinich this resolution is adopted. bio bids
shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the
openin^ of bids. All bids received by the City iranager up to
the time fixed in the notice for the openin of bids shall be
filed with the Loard of Commissioners who may let the contract
to the lowest resronsible.bidder. Fidders may appear before the
_oard of Corraissioners at 8:00 P.P. on the first Tuesday eveninC
following the opening of the bids to demonstrate their meters)
The right to reject any and all bids is reserved and the City of
Paducah shall not become leEally obliZated to purchase said meters
until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a
contract.
SECTION 4.
This Resolution shall be in full force an. effect from and
after its adoption.
