SEC TION? 1.
That the Cit.- ':anaEer be and he is hereby authorized, for
and on behalf of xhn City of _>aducah, to enter into a contract
with -the Standard Oil Cannon,. for the purchase of Crown Extra
Gasoline at 22.8;! per gallon including 1& per Fallon federal
tax and 5/ per gallon state tax, said company to accept Tax
rxemp.tion Certificate coverinZ federal tax, and also for the
purchase of Essolub-e 'rotor Oil at 57� per gallon, exclusive of
federal tax, said purchases to be made in drum lots; also to
enter into a contract raith the 'hell Oil Company for the pur-
chase of Golden Shell 'rotor Oil S.A.E. 10 to 50 inclusive
Code 3000 to 3004 for delivers in 50-55 Callon returnable
sealed drums at 0.54 per Tallon exclusive of all taxes; said
gasoline and oil to bs purchased upon the order of the City
of Paducah for use in `.overnmental operations for a period of
four (4) months beginnin-?'arch 1, 1948, and upon the terms and
conditions set forth in the •:-ritten bid of each company received
and filed by the Loard of Commissioners on February 17, 1948,
said terms and conditions as set forth in said bids being referred
to and made a part of this ordinance to the same extent as if
fully copied herein. Provided, hovrever, that each of said con-
tracts shall provide that in the event of a decline in the retail
price of said products at any time durinE said period the city
shall be given the benefit of the reduction in price; and provided
further that in the event of an increase in the price of said
products it shall be the duty of the Company to notify the City
'Tanager of such increase before further deliveries are made, and
in such event the city may, at its option, cancel said contract
by Eivin,-; the company five (5) days Written notice of its election
to cancel the same.

As the various departments of the City must be imnediately
supplied with Zasoline and oil for the protection of the public
health, safety and welfare, an emergency is hereby declared to
e7ist and this ordinance shall to in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
