OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SEC TIO`.: 1.
That the City Mana,-er be and he is hereby authorized to
advertise for bids for the purchase of two combination pumper fire
truc!cs. The bidders for the sale of said trucks to comply with the
follo,i,ing specifications and conditions:
Each bidder shall submit his lo,: -,est and best bid "o•^ t' e
sale of two triple combination pumper fire trucks of seven hundred
landfifty (750) Gallons per minute capacity; also his lowest and
best bid for one triple combination pumper fire truck of seven
hundred and fifty (750) gallons per minute capacity, and a pumper
of the same tyoe having a capacity of one thousand (1000) gallons
per minute.
The fire trucks offered for sale by each bidder shall
comply with the 1947 edition of Suggested Specifications on "unicip 1
Fire Apparatus, published by the International .3sociation of rire
Chiefs, under the headin-s of "Information for contractors," "Pro-
visions applyin^' to all types of 000arstus," and "Special provision
for pumper (triplecombination)," except as modified and added to b
the specifications below:
The fire truc'cs offered for sale shall have two top mounted
booster :eels with 200 feet of 3/4 inch hose on each, and a 3/4 inc
fog nozzle for one set and a chrome .finish shut off nozzle for
other set. They shall have a 250 gallon booster tank of rust re-
sistant material (each bidder to specify material used), with an
alternate fiz,ure for an all copper tank; also one 15 pound carbon d oxide
extinguisher (CO 2 or equal) and one two and one-half (24) gallon
foam extinguisher; also two standard size aluminum ladders; one
extra three -section 35 foor aluminum extension ladder; and one
extra 14 foot aluminum extension ladder; all ladders to be mounted
on truck. The fire truc'cs offered for sale shall have installed
on them one free rollinr•siren (Federal or equal) with red flasher
li,^ht: one 12 inch locomotive bell. Siren and bell to be reinforce
lat point of mountin!; to prevent crackin^ of body materials; one 10 pnch
search light mounted on riht side of truck; two red li`hts ;counted on
opposite :'des of coed; hose body to carry minimum loan of 1,200 feet

in hose body to form two compartments; each compartment to carry
minimum load of 5CO feet of one and one-half (11,) inch double

one and one-half (1D inch hose compartment with a door at rear.
Two side locker's in front of rear fenders under one and one-half
(12) inch hooe compartments. One locker over pump compartment.
All lockers to use reasonable amount of available space and not
to be merely token lockers. Centrifugal pressure volume type pump.
Rotary Zear primin. pumps. No -way pumper gated Siamese 2 1/2" x
2 1/2" x 5" to fit threads of sample furnished by city. Threads
on two and one-half (2-,;H inch outlets to be :rational Standard
equipped with adapters to thread used by city. Eidder to furnish
a certified copy of SAE Gasoline Engine Test Code for each motor.
Seats to comply with aug'ested specifications of bTational Eoard of
?ire Underwriters. Parts customarily of bright finish to be chrome
plsted. t heels to be d_s'ced. Casoline tank to be of capacity re-
quived for trio hours continuous operation of motor at full capacity
Eidder to `ive delivery date and length of guarantee on apparatus,
�and bidder to agree to furnish performance bond for delivery of
0-paratus on or before such delivery date. Eidders shall state the
location of the factory i=nhere apparatus or equipment is to be built
and the make and t;tpe of each principal unit of the machine or equi_ -
ment. Each bid shall be accompanied by complete detail specificati n
of the a-paratus, motor chassis and equipment :which it is proposed
to furnish and to which the apparatus or equipment furnished under
the contract must conform in addition to specifications above.
SEC TION 2.
The City tanager shall advertise for bids by postin.- a
notice at the Cit;; ?tall door and by inserting a notice oftherevue t
for bids in at least one issue of the Sun-Der.,ocrat. Trio notice shall
be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the openin<
of bids and no bids shall be opened .within ten (10) days from the
date on Y,'hich this Resolution is adopted. No bids shall ke receive
after the hour fixed in the notice for the openinZ of bids. All
bids received by the City Yana[;er un to the tithe fixed in the notic
for the onenin- of bids shall be filed with the _oard of Commission -
era who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder or
birlrlers. The Loard of Commissioners shall reserve the ri-ht to
reject any and all gids and the City of Paducah shall not to legally

SECTION 3.
This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
