A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HON. EARL C. CLMIENTS, GOVERNOR
OF THE CC 3„ 0�PNEALTH OF KENTUCKY, AND HON. ROSCOE l:IURRAY, STATE
ADJUTANT GENERAL, TO RECOP?L4EiJD TO THE GENERAL ASSEYBLY THE EN=
ACTTJENT OF LEGISLATION APPROPRIATING FUNDS NECESSARY TO _rATCH
FUNDS APPROPRIATED BC THE FEDERAL GOVERNti1ENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF NATIONAL GUARD AR?4ORIE3 IF THE ACT PROVIDING SUCH APPROPR IATION
BY THE CONGRESS IS PASSED
WHEREAS, there has been planned by the Adjutant General's
Department of the Commonwealth of Kentucky a program providing
for the construction of armories in various cities of the Common-
wealth, but plans have not materialized by reason of insufficient
funds provided for that Purpose; and
r �RiAS, the construction of armories throughout the state
is necessary as a means of providing facilities for the traininC
of members of the Kentucky 3ational Guard, which is an essential
element of the National Defense of the United States;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EOr.RD OF CMU-II33IONERS
OF ME CITY OF PADUCAH, That the Hon. Earl C. Clements and the
Hon. Roscoe ?4urray, State Adjutant General, be urged to recommend
to the General assembly at its 1948 session the enactment of
leCislation appropriatinL sufficient revenue to match federal funds
which may be made available for the construction of armories if the
Act providing such spnropriation now pending in the Congress shall
be passed.
BE IT ,LRTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be maile
to the Governor and Adjutant General, to Senator Henry ^'ard and to
,epresentatives Charles I, Burnley and Fred '.;organ.
