A RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE APPRAISAL OF' THE CAR BARN OF THE
KENTUCKY UTILITIES COMPANY IN CONNECTION 'WITH THE AC:JISITION OF
THE ELECTRIC UTILITIES SYSTEM OF THE KENTUCKY UTILITIES COMPANY
PURSUANT TO SECTION 7 OF THE FRANCHISE ORDINANCE UNDER 'PlHICH THE
CITY OF PADUCAH WAS GRANTED THE RIGHT AND OPTION TO PURCHASE SAID
SYSTEM
71HEREAS, in their joint letter of February 3, 1948 addressed
to ]:r. Victor C. Hobday, City '•anager of Paducah, Kentucky, and h.r.
R. I::. Watt, President of the Kentucky Utilities Company, Nr. L. R.
Howson and J. Samuel Hartt, the appraisers appointed to evaluate
the electric system of said company, requested the company and the
city to have the car barn property appraised by real estate men who
appraised the land accounts, including land and structures at their
present valve, and to advise the said Howson and Hartt of their
opinion; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah is ready, willing and anxious to
accomodate said appraisers by conferring with officials of the
Kentucky Utilities Company and by agreeing with them if possible up)n
real estate agents to assist in the appraisal requested by the said
Howson and Hartt,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Paducah notify
�, • Mr. R. T.I. !`.htt, Fresident of the Kentucky Utilities Company, of its
willinness to confer with him for the purpose of making appointmen s
of real estate agents to assist in appraising said lands, but t% -at h
said Hartt and Howson be urged to proceed with the appraisal of sai
real estate in their own manner and in accordance with the pro-
visions of said franchise so as to avoid any further delay.
. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that inasmuch as the appraisal of said
electric system has been delayed so long, that the said Hartt and
Howson make their own arrangements to appraise said real estate
!unless advised by either the City of Paducah or the Kentucky
Utilities Company before February 12, 1948 that an agreement appoin -
Ing local real estate agents to assist in doing the work has been
reached.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this reso-
lution be mailed to each of said apprai s and to ` said R.b:.'Uatt.
