SECTION 1.
That Section 7 of an ordinance entitled: "AN
ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUILDING CODE RECOM. NDED BY THE
NATIONAL EOARD OF FIRE UNDERIIRITERS, EXCEPT CERTAIN CLAUSES AND
SECTIONS THEREOF 'NHICH ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY ELIMINATED, AM) ALSO
ADOPTING THE STANDARDS OF SAFETY APPROVED E{ THE DIVISION OF INSUR'

AND WRECKING PERMITS; FIXING AND PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF
THE BUILDING INSPECTOR, HIS CEI„PENSATION, POKERS AND DUTIES; PROVI
I.
A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
THERMUITH; AND FIXING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF", which
was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on September 24th, 1946,
be and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amended
shall read as follows: -
"Section 7. A Building Inspector slp 11 be
appointed by the City 14anager to administer and enforce the pro-
visions of the Luilding Code and the standards o: Safety, as well
as all laws and ordinances of the City of Paducah relatin-- to the
same subject matter. He shall ce generally informed on the
quality and strength of tuilding materials, on the prevailing
nethods of buildin` construction, on r-ood practice in _ire V
)revention, and on the accepted requirements for' safe exit
Iacilities. He shall be in good health, physically capable of

making the necessary examinations and inspections of buildings
in course of construction. He shall not have any interest whateve
directly or indirectly, in the sake or manufacture of any
material, process or device entering into or used in or in
connection grit" buil^ing construction.
"In the event of the Building Inspector's absence from the
City or his inability to serve, theCity Tanager shall designate
and appoint another employee of the city to act as Assistant
Building Inspector during his absence or disability, and the
Assistant Building Inspector in such event shall have the
same pourers and perform the same duties as the Building Inspector.•
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect fron
and after its adoption.
