A RESOLUTION AUTHORI'Z'ING BLACKS: VEATCIi, CONSULTING ENGINEERS
TO BEGIN THE P,'ORK OF PREPARING PLANS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF STORM
RELIEF SEWERS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND FOR THE CON-
STRUCTION OF SE,'JER FACILITIES CONSISTING OF INTERCEPTING SANITARY
SEWERS, SEW.GE PUMP STATIONS AND A SONAGE DISPOSAL PLANT IN SAID
CITY PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CONTRACTS ENTERED INTO BETWEEN
DLACK S: VEATCH AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH UNDER ORDINANCES ADOPTED
BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OII NOVET.MER 26TII, 1946, AND AS
AMENDED 0T? JANUARY 3RD, 1947
WHEREAS, on January 3rd, 1947 the City of Paducah entered
into contracts for the employment of Black &. Veatch, Consulting
Engineers, under and pursuant to the provisions of ordinances
entitled: -
"AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT
WITH BLACK & VEATCH, CONSULTING ENGINEERS, FOR THE
PREPARATION OF PLANS FOR STORM RELIEF SEWERS IN THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND APPROPRIATING THE SUN
OF NOT EXCEEDING =;14,000.00 FOR THE SERVICES TO BE
RENDERED BY THEL? IN THE PREPARATION OF SAID PLANS",
which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on
November 26th, 1946, and amended by said board on
January 3rd, 1947,
and
"All ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT
'WITH BLACK S: VEATCH, CONSULTING ENGINEERS, FOR THE
PREPARATION OF PLANS FOR SEWER FACILITIES I? THE CITY
OF PADUCAH; KENTUCKY, AI?D APPROPRIATI?dG THE SUM OF NOT
ECCEEDI^?G ,;40,000.00 FOR THE SERVICES TO BE RENDERED
BY THEN Iii THE PREPARATION OF SAID PLANS",
which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on
November 26th, 1946, and amended by said board on
January 3rd, 1947.
AND 'WHEREAS, each of said contracts contained a provision
under which the City of Paducah obligated itself to notify the sa
Black 2.: Veatch when to start working on said projects; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Iaducah has received from the Federal
Works Agency the sum of :;x;7000.00 to be used for payment of the
of engineers employed to prepare plans for the construction of storm
relief sewers approved under Docket Ky-15-P-142, and also the sum
of $20,000.00 to be used for payment of said fees to prepare plans
for construction of the sewer facilities approved under Docket
Ky-15-P-141; and, '
SJHEREAS, the City of Paducah having received sums equal
to one-half of the amount appropriated for the purposes provided
in said ordinance, it is now in order for said engineers to begin
the work of preparing plans in connection with each project.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMH.;IJS LONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENMCKY:
SEC TION 1.
That Black & Veatch, Consulting Engineers of Jansas City,
P,iissouri, be notified to immediately begin the work of preparing
the plans referred to in each of the aforesaid ordinances and
more specifically described under Docket Ky-15-P-142 and Docket
Ky-15-P-141 of the Federal •corks Agency, and the City 1;:anager is
hereby authorized to transmit to the said Black £: Veatch a formal
notice to begin the preparation of said plans, together with a
certified copy of this resolution.
SECTION 2.
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
