AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PA)MENT OF TWENTY
THOUSAND ($20,000.00) DOLLARS TO BLACK AND VEATCH, CONSULTING
ENGINEERS. TO APPLY ON THE CONTRACT PRICE FCR THE PREPARATION
OF PLANS FOR SEWER FACILITIES IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
UNDER DOCKET KY -15-P-141 OF THE FEDERAL WORKS AGENCY, AND
AUTHORIZING THE AfiIENDMENT OF SU3 SEC TION 2 OF SECTION "B" OF
THE CONTRACT ENTERED INTO BETWEEN SAID CONSULTING ENGINEERS
AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH Oil DECE14 BER 31, 1946
WHEREAS, under the Ir ovisions of the contract entered
into between the City of Paducah and Black and Veatch,
Consulting Engineers on December 31, 1946, pursuant to an
ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners on November
26, 1946, said Consulting Engineers have submitted to T. A.
Bradley, the City Engineer, certain plans and specifications
for the construction of sewer facilities in the City of
Paducah under Docket KY -15-P-141, but said plans and specificatio
have not been approved by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, although said plans and specifications have
not been approved by the City Engineer, a substantial portion
of the work required under said contract has been performed
by said Consulting Engineers and it is deemed advisable to
pay to said Engineers that portion of the funds which the
City has received from the Federal :'forks Agency for the
preparation of said plans and specifications;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMIISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTIOII 1.
That the City of Paducah pay to Black and Veatch,
Consulting Engineers, the sum of Twenty Thousand ($20,000.00)
Dollars to apply on the contract price for the plans and
specifications prepared by them for ,the construction of sewer
facilities in the City of raducah, Kentucky, said sum to
be paid from funds received for this purpose from the Federal
Works Agency.
SECTION 2.
That Subsection 2 of Section "B" of the aforesaid con-
tract dated December 31, 1946 be amended to read as follows:
"B: The City agrees to:

2. To pay the Engineers for the services
described above under Items A-1 through
A-7 a sum equal to five per cent (5%)
of the estimated cost of construction
exclusive of lands and right of way,
as prepared under Item A-6 above by the
Engineers and as agreed to as a fair and
just cost estimate by the City Engineer,

and provided that all payments to the
Engineers shall be solely from funds
received by the City from the Federal
Works Agency under the terms of an a-
greement between the City and the Fed-
eral Works Agency providing for the
financing of this advanced planning
program and according to the follow-
ing schedule, and provided further,
that in no case shall the Engineers
be entitled to a sum in excess of
Forty Thousand Dollars (440,000.00)
for the services described in para-
graph A above, the sum of Twenty Thou-
sand Dollars ($20,000.00) to be paid
upon the execution of this contract,
and the remainder to be paid when the
Engineers have submitted final plans and
specifications to T. A. Bradley, the City
Engineer, and said plans and specifications
have been approved by him".
And the t,;ayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized, for and on
behalf of the City of Paducah, to enter into a Supplemental
Contract with the said Black and Veatch, said contract to be
amended in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
