SECTIO14 1.
That vection 2, of an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBIN(
THE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR TIG FILLING OF VACANCIES IN THE POLICE DEPART—
11NT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENIX;CKY; PROVIDING THE 1:fiiN!-ZR OF ASSIGN1+ENi OF
POLICEL'EN TO SHIFTS IN SAID DEPARTIENTS, RaEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
THEN TIITH; AND PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE" which was adopted by the Board
of Commissioners on November 11, 1947, be and the same is hereby amended so
that said section as amended shall read as follows:
SECTION 2. The oldest member in point of s rvice shall have
the choice of the shifts on which he shall be employed, excepti that the
shifts now used shall be maintained until January 1, 1948. .On the first day
of January, 19483 and on the first day of each second month thereafter the
choice of shifts shall be given those members who are oldest in point of
service under such procedure for the making of selections of shifts as may be
adopted by the Chief of Police, and no change in shifts shall be wade between
the dates set out above unless there is a vauancy resulting faom sickness,
death, retirement or other reason which renilres a change.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
