BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BMW OF :;OTXISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, � it
KENTUCKY.
SECTION 1.
Whenever there shall be a vacancy in the police department of the
City of Paducah, such vacancy shall be filled by the oldest member of the
department in point of service regardless of p7sition or rank and if the
officer who is entitled to advance to such position should decline to do so,
said posit' -on shall be filled by the next member oldest in point of service.
If any officer who is entitled to fill a vacancy should decline to do so,
he shall not thereafter have the right to oust that employee who accepted. such
vacancy.
SECTIO14 2.
The oldest membeisin point of service shall have the choice of the
shift on which they shall be employed
SECTION 3.
If any section of this ordinance shall be adjudged or held invalid
for any cause, it shall not thereby cause or result in the voiding or invali-
dating of any other sect -Lon of this ordinance. It is hereby declared as the
legislative intent that this ordinance would have been adopted had such void
or invalid provisions not been included herein.
SECTION 4.
All ordinant'es or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are to
the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance si:all be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
