AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KIND-WOODALL MOTOR BALES
FOR THE SAME OF ONE (1) 1947 PLYMOUTH SPECIAL DELUXE FOUR DOOR SEDA
TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH BY TRADING IN FOR SAID NEW AUTOMOBILE POLICE
CAR #6, AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPROPRIATION OF THE SUM OF $1156.90
FOR PAYMENT OF THE REMAINDER OF THE PURCHASE PRICE FOR SAID NEW AUTO-
MOBILE AFTER CREDIT IS GIVEN FOR THE CAR TRADED IN, AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, under a resolution adopted by the Board of Commission-
ers on September 30, 1947, the City Manager advertised for bids for
the purchase of one (1) new automobile to be used in the Police Depart-
ment by publishing a notice of the request for bids as required by
law; and,
WHEREAS, under said resolution the City Manager was also re-
quested to obtain bids of mechanics for repairing the aforesaid
police car #6 instead of purchasing a new automobile; and
WHEREAS, bids have been received and filed and it appeating to
the Board of Commissioners that the offer of King -Woodall Motor Sale
Company in the sum of $1156.90, being the net price of a new 1947
Plymouth Sedan automobile including a Patrol Car Package referred to
in said Company's bid, is the lowest and best bid which has been
received:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SEC TION 1.
That the City of Paducah accept the bid of King -Woodall Motor
les in the sum of $1156.90 for the purchase of one (1) 1947 Plymou

SECTION 2.
The sum of $1156.90 is hereby appropriated for payment of the
nainder of the purchase price for the aforesaid new automobile aft

SECTION 3.
That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to enter
nto and execute, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, a contract
or the purchase of the aforesaid new automobile from King -Woodall

Motor Sales provided said contract contains a provision under whick
said automobile shall be delivered to the City of Paducah within a
period of five (5) days from the date of contract, and provided
further that said contract contains such other covenants and con-
ditions which the City Manager may wish to impose.
SEC TION 4.
This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of
the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for one week for publ
inspection in the completed form in which it skull be put upon its
final passage, but it being necessary for the Police Department
to be immediately furnished with a new automobile to replace police
car ##6 in order to properly and efficiently patrol the streets and
enforce the ordinances of the City of Paducah and the statutes of
the State of Kentucky for the protection of the public health and
safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adop.
